The Data Analyst is responsible for analysing data from client procurement systems and operates as part of the Procurement Systems team, delivering operational-level analysis. The role involves clearly communicating concepts, insights, and findings through graphical representations in reports and dashboards. In addition, the position provides mentoring to the Business Systems Unit on the development, use, and ongoing support of Power BI dashboards.
Responsabilities:
- Lead the delivery of reporting and analytical insights to support decision-making across government and at the agency level.
- Provide research, analysis, and interpretation of system-sourced data to identify solutions to business issues, applying statistical, mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, and evaluation techniques.
- Analyse data within the Data Warehouse, applying strong technical skills in relational databases (ER), SQL, Power BI, and Python.
- Rapidly develop an understanding of complex datasets, databases, and data structures.
- Respond to stakeholder information needs, including the delivery of whole-of-government data, analytics, and reports as directed
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and related database technologies, with a strong understanding of Azure cloud-based services.
- Demonstrated experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, and data modelling, including data modelling, analysis, and visualisation using SQL, DAX, and tools such as Power BI.
- Proven ability to analyse business problems and develop high-quality data products, with a strong focus on delivering effective client services and outcomes.
