This environment offers strong technical exposure to Azure-native services, Kubernetes, and private enterprise cloud networking.
The role:
We are seeking a Cloud Engineer with DevOps experience to support, maintain, and enhance an Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environment hosting internally developed application platforms.
This role will focus on day-to-day AKS operations, containerised deployments, infrastructure automation, monitoring, and secure connectivity across private cloud networks. You will play a key role in ensuring platform reliability, performance, and continuous improvement following cloud and DevOps best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters for scalable application deployments
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerised workloads using Docker and Azure Container Registry (ACR)
- Support application connectivity across Azure private networking (VNets, private endpoints, routing, firewall policies)
- Implement and manage role-based access control (RBAC) for security and governance
- Configure and support Azure Blob Storage and ADLS Gen2
- Monitor platform and application health using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Container Insights, and Grafana
- Investigate incidents, analyse logs/metrics, and contribute to performance tuning and operational improvements
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for application and infrastructure delivery
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure across infrastructure, application hosting, and security
- Experience supporting Kubernetes environments (ideally AKS) including ingress, load balancing, and private cluster configurations
- Strong experience with Docker and container lifecycle management in Linux environments
- Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines (build, release, and deployment automation)
- Understanding of Azure networking and security (VNets, subnets, NSGs, private endpoints, DNS, firewall policies, RBAC)
- Experience with Azure Blob Storage and/or ADLS
- Familiarity with Azure monitoring tools including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Container Insights
- Experience with kubectl, k9s, or similar Kubernetes CLI tools
- Exposure to Azure Firewall, route tables, and hybrid/private networking
- Knowledge of certificate management, secret handling, and secure Kubernetes workloads
- Experience with Helm, YAML manifests, and GitOps workflows
- Understanding of Prometheus, managed Grafana, and alerting integrations
- Exposure to Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, or governance frameworks
