About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Architect to provide strategic and hands‑on architectural services across a complex enterprise environment.
This role bridges the gap between business needs, cyber risk, and technology solutions, supporting secure design and delivery of ICT controls and systems aligned to recognised governance, risk and compliance (GRC) frameworks. You will work across business, information, application and technology domains to shape current and future‑state security architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Discover and assess existing information and data architectures across multiple domains
- Design and maintain security architecture roadmaps from current to future state
- Conduct security assessments and risk analysis, identifying gaps and control improvements
- Provide input into business requirements to support secure future‑state designs
- Deliver strategic advice on security best practices, architectures and industry standards
- Engage and collaborate with stakeholders including Project Managers, Business Analysts, Cyber Security Specialists, Change Managers, Enterprise Architects and SMEs
- Provide procurement support, including definition of security requirements and evaluation of vendor responses
- Support broader program activities as required
- Extensive experience designing and implementing information security architecture practices
- CISSP certification
- SABSA certification
- 5 years’ experience defining and implementing security strategies in large, complex organisations
- 10 years’ experience providing architectural advice and designs for enterprise‑scale solutions
- Strong experience with security frameworks and standards including ISO 27001, Essential Eight, IS18 and ISM
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience across both public and private sector environments
- Familiarity with Queensland Government Enterprise Architecture (QGEA) policies and frameworks
