The role:
As a Data Scientist, you’ll design and deliver analytical solutions that support business outcomes. You’ll partner with product owners, analysts, engineers and operational teams to explore data, build models, and translate insights into practical recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse large, complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns and opportunities
- Build statistical models and machine learning solutions for forecasting, optimisation and decision-making
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) and communicate outcomes clearly
- Develop reproducible data pipelines and analytical workflows
- Produce impactful visualisations and presentations for varied stakeholder groups
- Strong Python skills (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn)
- Strong SQL and experience working with relational databases
- Demonstrated experience building/validating predictive models or ML solutions
- Strong analytical problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills
- Data visualisation experience (Power BI, Tableau or similar)
- Ability to translate technical findings into clear, compelling narratives
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Big data tooling (Spark, Databricks)
- Deploying models into production environments
- MLOps / model lifecycle management exposure
- Energy/Utilities AND / OR mining domain exposure (highly regarded )
- Highly competitive day rate
- Central Perth location (CBD) with the chance to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
