About the Role:
The role is responsible for leading defect management across all test phases, coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure efficient defect resolution. The position involves triaging, prioritising, and tracking defects, conducting root cause analysis, and refining processes to drive continuous improvement. Strong communication skills, expertise in defect management tools, and the ability to manage functional, non-functional, and business acceptance defects are essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead defect management across all test phases includes non-production and production working with Test Managers, Test Leads, Subject Matter Experts, and business.
- Coordinate with internal development teams, IT teams, Project Managers, 3rdparty vendors and business to achieve efficient closure of defects.
- Define and refine the defect management process and relevant approvals.
- Triage defects and assign actions, ownership, and priorities.
- Track and monitor defects measured against KPI’s via daily, weekly, and monthly status reports.
- Conduct root cause analysis and generate reports and recommend/implement actions to prevent defect reoccurrence.
- Communicate risk and issues regularly to stakeholders.
- Defect Manager experience 5-years or greater.
- Managing defects in large scaled, networked Contact Centres would be advantageous.
- Experience managing functional, non-functional, and business acceptance defects.
- Experience assigning defect severity and priority levels across test phases.
- Knowledge/experience of using defect management tools such as ALM or similar preferred.
- Hosting and managing defect triage across multiple environments.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, and able to communicate complex ideas in simple terms.
- Prior Australian Government experience would be advantageous but not essential.
