About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Delivery Lead – Consulting Operations to drive operational excellence within a high-performing consulting function.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a critical leadership role, overseeing how consulting services are delivered while ensuring consistency, efficiency, and quality across the practice. You will combine day-to-day operational leadership with the ability to contribute to billable consulting work, supporting a team delivering HR and payroll solutions.
This position reports directly to the Head of Consulting and is offered on a contract, fixed-term, or potentially permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of consultants and support staff
- Drive consistency in delivery standards, processes, and quality
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
- Oversee and maintain delivery frameworks, tools, and processes
- Ensure alignment with quality standards and best practice methodologies
- Embed strong operational discipline across consulting delivery
- Manage day-to-day resource allocation across projects
- Monitor utilisation, capacity, and forecasting
- Identify resourcing risks and capability gaps
- Act as a key escalation point for delivery or resourcing issues
- Support consultants to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes
- Maintain delivery cadence, reporting, and operational rhythms
- Ensure consulting services remain competitive and aligned to market needs
- Contribute to evolving service offerings and delivery models
- Drive improvements in systems, tools, and processes
- Partner with internal teams across consulting, transformation, and customer delivery
- Support alignment across delivery processes and workflows
- Contribute to overall delivery performance and customer experience
- Provide hands-on support across implementation or advisory engagements as required
- Support consultants with solution design and delivery activities
You are a consulting operations leader with a strong mix of people leadership, delivery oversight, and hands-on consulting experience.
You bring:
- Proven experience in consulting, professional services, or delivery environments
- Strong background in operations, resource planning, or PMO functions
- Experience leading and developing consulting or delivery teams
- Ability to manage utilisation, capacity planning, and workforce allocation
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem solving
- Experience with Aurion or similar HRIS/payroll systems
- Solid understanding of Australian payroll practices and legislation
- Exposure to consulting delivery frameworks, PMO, or transformation environments
