About the Role:
The Device Management Specialist is a senior role within the End User Computing (EUC) team. Its primary purpose is to design, develop, deploy, manage, and maintain the Technology catalogue and Standard Operating Environment (SOE) for all endpoint devices and associated hardware and software. This role may be required after hours from time to time to assist with major incidents resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain the organisation’s Technology catalogue and Standard Operating Environment (SOE) for endpoint devices including desktops, laptops, tablets, and displays.
- Evaluate, test, and implement upgrades, security updates, patches, and device configurations to ensure stability, security, and optimal usability.
- Manage and optimise endpoint device management platforms, policies, and associated infrastructure to meet operational needs.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure the SOE and device offerings align with current and future business requirements.
- Provide advanced support to the EUC team, including troubleshooting, configuration, and disciplinary process execution.
- Lead efforts in software distribution, ensuring timely delivery of updates, patches, and applications with minimal disruption to users.
Skills and Experience:
- 5-10 years of professional experience in a similar EUC or device management role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Manager (SCCM), Windows SOE development, and software packaging.
- Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM), particularly Intune, and understanding of active directory and group policy administration.
- Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical environments and provide strategic advice to stakeholders.
