Join a dynamic team working at the forefront of big data technology, where the client is seeking a talented Hadoop Developer to play a vital role in their organisation. This full-time position is based on a contract basis, offering an exciting opportunity to work remotely or onsite, depending on project requirements. You will be working within an innovative environment that values technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving.

As the selected candidate, you will:

  • Design and develop big data applications within Cloudera big data clusters, ensuring they meet business requirements and architecture standards.
  • Administer and support big data clusters, including Hortonworks, Cloudera, and open-source big data ecosystems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Build robust, efficient, and reliable data pipelines that aggregate data from diverse sources for ingestion and processing on cloud platforms.
  • Provide technical expertise for ongoing initiatives, collaborating with project stakeholders to devise the most feasible solutions.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, maintaining, and debugging applications in production environments to ensure smooth operation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of big data systems and processes through innovative technical solutions.
To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Proven experience in the implementation, configuration, and support of Hadoop environments.
  • Strong background in designing, developing, and implementing big data applications.
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring, Python, Shell scripting, and familiarity with DevOps tools such as Git, Bamboo, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Hands-on experience with building and administering open-source big data platforms.
  • Good knowledge of SQL, debugging skills, and experience working in production environments.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to keep teams and stakeholders updated on project progress.
It is desirable if you have:

  • Experience working with cloud platforms and data ingestion processes.
  • A degree in Information Technology or a related field.
