About the Role:
The role is responsible for leading the discovery, classification, and protection of sensitive data across the M365 environment. This includes configuring and operationalising Microsoft Purview capabilities such as sensitivity labels, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and retention policies. The position focuses on designing and implementing scalable controls to safeguard sensitive information while ensuring alignment with organisational security and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Configure Microsoft 365 and Purview to scan and identify sensitive data across SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Exchange environments.
- Generate clear and actionable reports highlighting high-risk data exposure and hotspots.
- Implement and manage sensitivity labels, auto-labelling, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies.
- Establish practical security guardrails that minimise risk while maintaining user productivity.
- Design and implement secure SharePoint frameworks for handling highly sensitive information.
- Define and enforce controls for access, sharing, labelling, and auditing within secure collaboration environments.
- Support automated provisioning workflows to ensure consistent and compliant deployment.
Skills and Experience:
- Hands-on experience in Microsoft 365 security and compliance, including Microsoft Purview, sensitivity labels, Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and retention and data lifecycle management
- Proven experience administering and securing SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Exchange Online environments
- Track record of delivering outcomes within program and project environments, with exposure to agile methodologies
- Experience planning and executing pilots and staged rollouts within large-scale enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of access controls, permissions, and secure sharing practices across M365 platforms
