Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain computer networks, systems, and related infrastructure to meet operational and security requirements.
- Develop and manage network architectures, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, VPN, firewall, and cloud-connected environments.
- Analyse, diagnose, and resolve network and system issues to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve network efficiency, security, and scalability.
- Oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of servers, network hardware, cloud services, and security systems.
- Assist in the planning and execution of infrastructure upgrades, system integrations, and deployment of new services.
- Work closely with infrastructure and software development teams to ensure stable and secure environments for applications and development operations.
- Create and manage technical solutions that address business needs across multiple departments.
- Conduct systems analysis, performance reviews, and risk assessments to support continuous improvement.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, including system designs, configuration procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for contact centre technologies, telephony platforms, and end-user systems.
- Resolve escalated incidents from service desk or operational teams, ensuring efficient and effective service restoration.
- Work with business units to identify user needs and improve service delivery.
- Lead and mentor technical operations teams in fast-paced environments.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts across I.T infrastructure, software development, and operational departments.
- Provide technical guidance during complex system troubleshooting, incident response, and infrastructure changes.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical incidents.
- Manage incident response processes, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reporting.
- Implement preventative measures to minimise recurrence of incidents and improve system resilience.
- Strong technical knowledge of computer networking, routing and switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, and security technologies.
- Experience with systems engineering, including server technologies, virtualisation, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and monitoring tools.
- Demonstrated experience in systems integration, network diagnostics, and performance tuning.
- Proven ability to work across I.T infrastructure, application development environments, and end-user support functions.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and leadership capabilities, with experience managing technical teams.
- Ability to work calmly in high-pressure environments with competing priorities.
