We’re seeking an experienced On‑Site Network Engineer to take ownership of our networking infrastructure—ensuring reliability, security, and performance across systems essential to operations, safety, and data integrity.
This is a hands‑on role suited to a proactive, solutions‑focused specialist who thrives in complex environments and enjoys working closely with operational teams.
About the Role As the On‑Site Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, maintenance, and enhancement of our core network systems. You’ll act as a key technical partner across the business—supporting operations, safeguarding network security, and driving continuous improvement across all site connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Infrastructure Management
Design, configure, and maintain on-site network components supporting critical operational systems, IoT devices, and communication platforms. - Security & Compliance
Implement and uphold robust network security controls; monitor for threats, vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards. - Operational Support
Work closely with on-site teams to understand network requirements, resolve issues, and ensure stable, uninterrupted communication and data flow. - Disaster Recovery & Redundancy
Develop and maintain disaster recovery strategies, backup systems, and redundant network pathways to safeguard business continuity. - Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with engineering, operations, safety, and data teams to deliver networking solutions that enhance efficiency and support advanced analytics. - Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate and comprehensive network documentation, configuration records, and performance/security reporting. - Vendor & Partner Management
Manage relationships with external vendors, service providers, and technology partners for equipment, licensing, and specialised services. - Safety Leadership
Operate in line with all health, safety, and environmental requirements—promoting a strong safety culture across all work activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 5 years’ experience in Network Engineering, ideally within the resources or industrial sector
- Recognised industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent operational networking certifications
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, IoT integration, SD‑WAN, and cybersecurity best practices within critical infrastructure
- ITIL V4 certification ( minimum Foundation)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively in high‑pressure environments
- Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating across diverse teams and organisational levels
