The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Business Intelligence & Cybersecurity Reporting Specialist with deep expertise in Power BI and SQL, a strong understanding of cybersecurity compliance frameworks, and proven experience in the higher education sector. This role is pivotal in transforming complex data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across IT, security, and governance functions.
Centralizing compliance test dashboards across multiple cybersecurity data sources to improve visibility and reporting accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Power BI & SQL Expertise – Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining advanced Power BI dashboards and reports, underpinned by strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and optimisation.
- Cyber Security Compliance Dashboards – Built and maintained dashboards aligned with frameworks such as the ACSC Essential Eight, enabling clear visibility of compliance maturity, audit readiness, and security control effectiveness.
- Data Modelling & Governance – Skilled in DAX, data modelling, and BI governance practices to ensure secure, accurate, and scalable reporting across multiple stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Strong track record of collaborating with IT Operations, Security, and Governance teams to deliver actionable insights, improve risk management, and support executive decision-making.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and SQL
- Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ACSC Essential Eight)
- Strong understanding of university operations and data ecosystems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of BI governance and data security best practices
