SAP Payroll Analyst – S/4HANA Transformation Program

Contract - Up to 15 months (02/02/2026 - 31/03/2027)
Location - Brisbane CBD - Hybrid

About the Role
As the SAP Payroll Analyst, you will support the S/4HANA Payroll stream throughout design, build, testing, and deployment. Working closely with payroll operations, HR, finance, technical teams, and the System Integrator, you will ensure payroll requirements are understood, validated, and accurately delivered in the new ERP solution.

This is a hands‑on, highly collaborative position suited to someone who is analytical, confident, and able to deliver in a high‑stakes environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Gather, analyse, and document payroll requirements across HR, Finance, and operational teams
• Review and validate payroll processes, identifying opportunities for automation and improvement
• Support payroll workflow design ensuring compliance with Australian payroll legislation
• Validate functional designs, configuration (schemas, PCRs, wage types), and integration logic
• Assist with data migration activities and system integration testing
• Prepare and execute payroll-related test scenarios, including UAT and parallel pay runs
• Identify gaps, risks, and deviations from current-state payroll behaviour
• Provide training, guidance, and documentation for end-users
• Support cutover, deployment, and post–go-live stabilisation
• Act as a key liaison between payroll operations, HR, finance, and ICT teams

About You
You will bring a strong mix of payroll domain knowledge, SAP expertise, and project delivery skills. To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in SAP Payroll (ECC) including configuration across PY, PT, CATS, ESS/MSS
• Hands-on experience with schemas, PCRs, wage types, and payroll rules
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and compliance requirements
• Experience in payroll transformation, system upgrades, or migration projects
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories
• Strong stakeholder engagement experience, including running workshops and interacting with technical teams
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to work across virtual, cross-functional teams
• Highly organised with strong problem-solving abilities and resilience under pressure

Desirable
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA Payroll or large multi‑release ERP programs
• Experience in Federal, State, or Local Government environments
• HR/Payroll operational experience or prior application support background
• SAP Activate, CBAP, CCBA or other Business Analysis certifications
