Senior Cloud Engineer — State Government
URGENT 3-Month Contract (possible extension)
Sydney CBD (Hybrid 3 days onsite and 2 days WFH)
Join a leading IT services organisation partnering with a State Government client!
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer
to help maintain and enhance our shared multi-cloud infrastructure platform — ensuring its stability, scalability, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Support and manage the organisation’s cloud platform and landing zone across AWS and Azure, including integrations.
• Respond to customer support requests and manage our ticket queue.
• Deploy standard infrastructure patterns (e.g., new accounts, baseline infrastructure).
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure issues and requests are resolved efficiently.
• Maintain and improve our automation stack such as ARM/Bicep/CloudFormation/Terraform, etc.
Skills & Experience
• 5 years’ experience as a cloud engineer or in a similar role
• Proven experience supporting large, shared landing zones in AWS and Azure
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps tooling
• Strong accountability and proactive approach to problem solving
• Excellent communication skills – comfortable engaging directly with customers on complex issues
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, and security best practices
