We are looking for an enthusiastic Entry-Level Software Developer to join our team on a 6-month onsite job based in NSW. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or junior developers looking to build hands-on experience while working alongside experienced software engineers on real-world projects.
You will contribute to the development, testing, maintenance, and support of software applications while receiving mentorship from senior developers. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, enjoys solving problems, and has a strong foundation in software development principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain software applications under the guidance of senior developers.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and technical issues.
- Create and execute unit tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
- Work collaboratively with developers, testers, designers, and project stakeholders.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including code and API documentation.
- Use Git or other version control systems to manage source code.
- Assist with technical support and troubleshooting when required.
- Manage assigned tasks effectively and meet project deadlines.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and updates with the development team.
- Continuously learn new programming languages, frameworks, tools, and development practices.
- Follow organisational development standards, security requirements, and software design guidelines.
- Recent graduate or early-career software developer with a passion for technology.
- Basic understanding of software development principles and object-oriented programming.
- Exposure to one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
- Familiarity with SQL, REST APIs, Git, or modern development tools is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow in a collaborative development environment.
