About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to play a key role in a large-scale enterprise data transformation program. This role will lead the design and delivery of a modern cloud-based data platform, enabling advanced analytics, improved decision-making, and long-term scalability.
You will work across multiple workstreams, partnering with delivery teams and stakeholders to transition legacy data environments into a modern Lakehouse architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of Databricks-based data platforms
- Oversee the development of data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and integration solutions
- Drive agile delivery, coordinating technical teams across multiple streams
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability and security requirements
- Manage risks, issues and dependencies across delivery
- Work closely with architecture, cloud and security teams
- Support the migration of legacy data platforms to modern environments
You are a hands-on technical leader with strong data engineering experience and a passion for delivering scalable, modern data solutions.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience as a Technical Lead / Lead Data Engineer / Data Platform Lead
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake)
- ETL/ELT pipelines and data engineering
- Experience delivering enterprise data or analytics projects
- Strong AWS or cloud platform experience
- Demonstrated experience in Agile delivery environments
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage risks, issues and dependencies
- Experience with data warehousing platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, SQL)
- Exposure to Lakehouse architectures or modern data platforms
- Experience working in large enterprise or regulated environments
- Experience managing distributed teams and external vendors
